Oh crap, did I just delete my clips???

I was capturing footage for a new project, and didn't like seeing all the past clip thumbs in the capture window bin...

So I deleted them.

I thought I'd done this before with no problem, but this time, it apparently deleted those clips off my hard drive completely!!! When I opened up the projects that had those clips, they were gone, filled by "empty place-holders" adn Vegas wanted to search for them. Hell, they weren't even in the 'trash can' on the desktop!

Is there some way to recover those clips without having to dig up the old tapes and recapture? (I don't even know if I have all of them!)

Maybe some kind of disc recovery service does that.

But when you delete those thumbs, a dialog box appears and asks you want to delete just the thumbs or both the thumbs and the media files.

Programs like Active Undelete can undelete files, as long as they haven't been written over. i.e. when you install Active Undelete, don't put it on the same partition as your deleted files.

2- AU is slow. Re-capturing may be as fast.
