Offset Audio Tool: DVX100 owners

Since I have the original DVX100 I have to use the Offset Audio tool. How exactly am I supposed to use it? I am about to start editing a project with a lot of dialogue and I know everything is going to be out of sync since I shot in 24PA.

Do I drag the clips on the timeline like I normally would? When do I use the tool to sync the audio back up?

Re: Offset Audio Tool: DVX100 owners

After capturing select the clips in the bin and use the tool.
Now you can drag them to your timeline.

Im sure the drift is there but I don't really notice it at all. I dragged the clips to the timeline without the tool and I carefully watched my external monitor and everything appears to be in sync.

Re: Offset Audio Tool: DVX100 owners

It's 2 fraames off which you may not notice with most clips.
If you have a clapper board though it's easy to see. Shoot a clapper slate or have someone slap their hands together.
Once you bring it in step through frame by frame and you'll see the difference. You can also gang and look at the audio wave display.

Ok now I just looked at the interview I shot again and yes it is out of sync. I followed your directions using the Offset sync tool and for some reason it still seems to be off by a few frames. I selected 2 frames when the prompt came up. For what I am doing it doesn't matter that much because the majority of the sound byte will be covered with video. But I need to fix this because other interviews will be up full screen.
