OfflineRT user experience?

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience using OfflineRT in FCP with a laptop? I was looking at the apple site but couldn't find much info about it.
Can it be used to make rendering less intensive on the cpu?
How does one implement the chosen edit decisions when the footage is moved back to the desktop?

Also, how does Motion fit into this equation? Is its performance improved also?

p.s. sorry again for this stupid newbie question. Yup, you guessed it, I'm a newbie. thanks to all those FCP users out there, don't tell the other guys I said this, but it's definitely the best user group out of all the editing options.

Use the Media Manager built into FCP. Do a search under the help menu.
Usually offline is lower resolution with more compression.
It will be faster in Motion dealing with smaller clips but you won't be able to make final judgements on anything until you deal with the full res images.
