Offline?

Okay, I'm a really poor guy, so tell me if this is possible. I won't have access to the camera after shooting and can't afford a 20 something inch LCD right now to edit with, so will this work:

I'd like to shoot HVX200 720p but offline at DVCAM resolution in FCP 5 so I can use the SD broadcast monitor I already have to edit with. Later I will 'online' back to 720p.

Can Media Manager directly convert the 720p files from the hard drive to DVCAM 16x9 (23.976 or 24??)? Has anyone done this before? Am I crazy?

I was about to ask the same thing. What's teh best way to offline 720p (hvx 200) on FCP. I thought i could shoot 720p tahn downconvert in the camera to DV tape, import the dv media edits some rough cuts than reconect to my media found on my p2 card (hi-res)...

just paying with the camera now, waiting for my FCP upgrade.
