I was wondering someone could help me.
Next week I'll be performing an offline editing for an upcoming feature film, and the director wants me to use Premiere Pro 2.0. However, I have a few questions that maybe you kind experts can help answer.
Basically, the film was shot on 16mm format and was transferred onto digibeta tapes for off-line edit. The idea is to digitise and edit the feature on Premiere Pro 2.0. Afterwards, the director wishes to do on-line work on an AVID system.
This is a first for me and I have to assume that the Premiere Pro EDL or AAF will be exported to an AVID system. I was wondering if someone can give me an advance guide to ensure that when the off-line (Premiere Pro) cut is exported on-line (AVID), for the first time, it should feel like nothing changed - only the NLE.
I have heard tips about filenames, timecode settings, framerates, using no effects etc... but they are never detailed or accurate. I would be ever-so-grateful if someone here could help.
