I am using premiere 2.0. I want to edit some hdv footage offline in regular DV. I created a dv timline and attempted ot capture my hdv tapes of the xlh1 (60i) but the only way it works to caputre is if i chose hdv capture and set the device control to be dv/hdv. If i do it to dv format capture then it gives me a message that the recorder isn't ready and i should try restarting my deck. I also tried created a timleine for desktop 720x480 1.2PAR yada yada with the compressor be none. still didn't work. The only thing i can do is capture the hdv footage to m2t and from there export regular dv files. After this I make my edit and save the project. I then open the project up in an hd timeline and unlink and relink media so that it uses the hd files instead of the exported dv. Is this an ok way of doing it. I would stil like to know how to capture offline.
