Emo WAS a term for a style of music that meshed all kinds of styles of rock (mostly punk and indie/post rock) and were played behind "EMOTIONAL"(Panzy ass) lyrics. It has since developed into a full-scale trend, guys wearing more makeup then their girlfriends, people crying at concerts (because everything gets so emotional. Not joking, I've seen it.) Pretty much every band started in the past 3 years has been emo/hardcore, and you can see what kind of music it is in many of the videos in the screen grabs section. Usually consisting of the Screaming, then the soft singing, then screaming, etc. Really boring garbage.

Also, The lyrics almost always talk about how sad they are, their g/f left, life is sooo hard, etc.

i.e. "Slit my wrists and black my eyes" -Hawthorne Heights. Unfortunately, noone has taken him seriously yet.

Yes I have heard of Death By Stereo. I wasn't aware of that song, but I do really like the band. One of the few good h/c bands out there imo. Into the Valley of Death is tight. Tmi.

I saw them live back in February...they kick ass!!

I got messed up in their mosh pits..so i went crowd surfing all the way to the front of the stage..then this big fat guy named Gus(security guard) liked raped me off the crowd and threw me to the ground and told me to go walk around the stage....it was crazy...go to one of their shows if you get a chance.

I saw Gwar a few weeks ago...OMG!! crazy as hell!! they had like crazy costumes...blood splurting out everywhere..i came out madd nasty....drenched....and cold :thumbsup:

EMO = Emotional Hardcore. An "emo kid" is someone who not only listens to emo (I enjoy Sunny Day Real Estate from time to time) but it is their life.

As far why they are "Nancy's": It can be summed up in this quick anecdote from Robert Hawkins, I'll paraphrase-

Why do these big muscular guys get tattoos of skulls and the devil, we get it, you're hard. If I was a big muscular guy I would get a tattoo that said "I feel pretty" and skip everywhere I went, 'cause I can back that up. Don't tell us you're hard...

Anyway, you get the point.:thumbsup:
