Como's back. back again
Hey guys, I'm writing another little short, 2 minutes comedy. It's about a guy who is waiting to go home from work, and with 1 second left till he gets to leave, his boss comes in and hands him papers to read. Frustrated, the guy breaks in his bosses office, and does a trick on him. But that's where I'm stuck, I can't think of a plan, or a trick to make the video funny..Here's the script, if you can think of an ending, let me know, thanks!

ext: Building. Day

It is a sunny day, and the building in the distance can be seen.

int: office. day

Clock is shown. Ticking. It says:

4:59

30 more seconds until JARRED gets to go home. He is waiting patiently, knuckles hitting the desk, expression on face is nerve wracking. One more second till home time and JARRED gets up to leave with his briefcase, and JOHN walks in with a stack of papers.

JOHN

Here, read this before you leave, it's for tomorrow's meeting.

JOHN leaves

JOHN

Have a good night.

JARRED looks frustrated. He opens the folder with the stack of papers in it, and has an angry look on his face. He mumbles.

JARRED

Stupid boss, gives me papers when my day is over. I'll kill him, I'll kill him! I gotta get revenge.

Then an IDEA strikes upon JARRED. He looks up, with a smirk on his face. He nods and smiles. He grabs a marker on his desk, stands up, and heads out of his OFFICE. He is out in the hallway, and he walks to the end, and on the right side is his bosses OFFICE. There is a picture, on the door of JOHN giving a smile. JARRED takes the marker he picked up from his desk, and draws devil eyebrows on his face. He puts the cap on, laughing away and opens the door to JOHN'S office, making sure knowing is looking. He gets in and shuts the door.

INT: JOHN'S OFFICE- DAY

THE FUN!!!

(saw this done to someone online and was pretty funny, so I can't take credit)

Jarred takes a digital snapshot of John's desktop. He deactivates power save/screen saver. He then does a quick photoshop with it, making a large crack in it. Sets it full screen, then unplus the keyboard and mouse.
 
Ha, ya my friend did that once. Took a picture, and set it as desktop, and put the picture in the forgorund so he couldn't click on anything. Thanks anyone else
 
how about right after John leaves, Jarred walks over to a window or door to watch his boss get in his car. He then pulls a trigger out of his pocket and pushes the button. The car explodes. Hilarious. como, i think you can pull that one off.

Something like this needs to be conveyed visually. It seems simple when we are fed the info in the script, but when we watch the movie, we won't know that 5pm is time to go home unless it has been established within the movie already. Editing could achieve this easily enough, but I thought I'd just point that out as a weakpoint in the reading of the script.

As for mischief, I would give his 'fun' in the boss's office some relevance to the hardship the boss has caused. For example, he could use the marker to black out all of his reports and papers, or he could change the language on his computer to japanese. I think if the mischief match the inciting action, it would tie the whole thing together a little bit more (but by no means does ALL of the mischief have to match, just a prominent amount).

smpprodcutions, That would be cool, an idea like that, but its low budget, and i cant get the car to explode lol. Maybe, i can do it in motion, and just add a fie blast or something
 
One time we got our boss' password for his computer, so we changed his Windows startup wave file to the song, "I'm Too Sexy", turned the speaker volume on full then shut his computer down. We were in a cube farm, so he got a LOT of looks when he logged in the next day :grin:

Later I wrote a program and installed on his computer. It would randomly open and/or close the CD tray. While that would be annoying enough, we made sure there was a CD in the drive so everytime it closed Windows opened Media Player and started playing the CD.

For his birthday, we got facilities to help us out. They replaced the open section of his cubicle with a solid wall. Then we filled the cubicle with tons of confetti, wadded up paper, streamers and balloons, then we covered the entire top with cellophane. :evil:

We had a lot of fun there :D
 
Jarred inserts a death metal CD into John's clock/radio. Turns the volume to 11. Sets it for 4:58 PM. Hides it and/or giues all stop buttons into place.
 
as the boss has abused Jarred's time, the prank should ideally relate to doing the same to the boss's time in some way, thus giving poetic justice which is dramatically more interesting than plain revenge. Somthing involving clock tampering might be interesting
