off/on button snaped off

As I flicked the power off to on the switch fell off. The switch as well as the red start/stop button came right off. (I guess I shouldn't have eaten my wheaties this morning?) I tried to snap it back in as it's got clips that after pushed in a certain depth it should snap in. But it just wont snap in. Any ideas? The lever is there and I can press the start stop on the top handle, but I definately need to fix it.
Has anyone ever had this happen? and does it mean I have to send it in for service?

Thanks,
Vince

Re: off/on button snaped off

Wow this seems like some extraordinary mess you are in!
Sorry i doubt this has happened to many people you can either try to avoid it or send it off for a couple month service! Better to drive and wait until they fix it. Sounds mad!

Re: off/on button snaped off

Hey vinnie sorry to hear . . . get it done by a pro . . . the on and off button became only an off button :(

Re: off/on button snaped off

Thanks Matthew, so this happend to you too? Your red record button doesnt work ? or just the on off button? I checked out the local panasonic authorized rep for the dvx, and they seem pretty professional, but how do i check?

Thanks,
Vince

No it did not happen to me , but the authorized personel is surely the right way to go.
