Oddity - FCP 5.1.4 places render directories inside App packaga

I noticed it first on my MBP.
The disk was filling up strangely, and files appeared rendred that I hadn't rendered - even though my scratch disk was set properly.

I found that the "Mac OS" folder inside the FCP packagae all of a sudden contained render and scratch directories.

I doublechecked on my G5, and same thing had happened there. FCP all of a sudden weighing in @ a multitude of GB.

Seems like FCP does some (proxy???) renderinng and places those files inside the app package. (Right-click on FCP, choose open package and navigate to the Mac OS folder and PLEASE! Don't mess your app up while you're in there! -;)

I guess this is a bug.

Anyone else?

(And btw, I know how to assign a scratch disk and routinely change my scratch location when I swap disks/projects.)

Huh? I've been running 5.1.4 since the update and I just checked my Mac OS folder in the package and there wasn't any render files. This seems kinda wierd?

I'm on a PowerBook G4 and I'm not seeing this problem. In fact, I just did a couple of renders earlier and they went to the correct place.

I followed your instructions to get to "Mac OS" folder and nothing out of the norm there either.

Just checked and it WAS doing it on my 5.1.4 system. I deleted these render files, trashed the FCP prefs and that seems to have stopped it.
Very, very odd indeed.
