Does anyone here have any ODB experience or know of a good forum to get help with that stuff?
I am looking at a really good deal on a Sony BVS-3100 switcher to do local sports with. It is an 8 input analog switcher.
I need to know if it would be possible to hook up a camera like the DVX up to this switcher. I know there will be sync issues, but is there a work around like not doing dissolves or something like that that could make this work.
I have used a Panasonic MX20 switcher before without TBC or frame syncs, but that switcher may have had them built into it. I do know that we couldn't hot punch the cameras though because it would cause a frame of black to show up. You had to jump back and forth from bus A to bus B to switch.
Right now I can get this Sony switcher for around $200 so I would be stupid not to buy it if I can use DVX or some other type of prosumer camera until I can upgrade to something that can be genlocked.
