So It's the start of the Haunting month Tomorrow. I'm curious, what's your fears?

Your darkest secret and fear of them all..

The ocean.... although not entirely, I just came out to California from Minnesota. I love going to the beach and going in the water, and I want to learn how to surf. More specifically I would say that I am terrified of the ocean after you are out of the beach area and on into the deeper ocean. Although I have no idea why.......

****ing old basements man! I have never liked basements especially the ones with no windows and I seriously doubt I could spend a night alone in a wax museum. Stupid really but there it is. I remember during a power failure a few years back there was a noise in the basement in an old house I lived in Toronto. I Went down with a candle to an area of the basement where someone had hung themselves (according to rumor...But that's all you need) in the pantry. For no good reason, the candle went out...I'm in a basement with a potential ghost and I can't see one foot in front of my face and I've only ever seen Kung Foo in the theater. Yep basements creep me out!

Shall I begin

Human Liquids
Sharks (I live 20 miles from where Jaws was filmed)
Deep Water (I live/work on the ocean... how fun)
Dark Alleys
Sharp things pointing at me.

I feel the same. I went snorkeling with seals, twice now, and when I'm near the seals around the small rocky island, it's fine... somewhat (I still think those huge rocks will turn into whales or something), but then I had to swim out to the boat....

It's because it's deep man! Nothing below you but lots of water and god knows what! I'm not necessarily scared of sharks. I'm more scared that an Orca would randomly go up for air next to me! Gah! It didn't help that in the shop before swimming with the seals is a big photo of this tiny diver deep below the ocean touching the mouth of a HUGE whale shark.

I hate the deep ocean...

Oh and spiders... bugs of all kinds in fact. Oh and being burried alive. Oh and animals walking around your tent when camping in the middle of the night then randomly scratching at the tent wall. Gah I hated that night!

There's a waiting couch out there for you someplace:)

"Deep Water (I live/work on the ocean... how fun)"

LMAO...That's funny!!

I'm scared of those 40 foot tall creatures with all the tentacles and the single bloodshot eye. I hate it when they follow me around in the grocery store aisles.

Oh, and one of my biggest fears (brought to mind by a conversation today and another thread here) is loss of sight. I actually have nightmares where I lose sight and freak out.

Failure.
Loneliness.
Wasps. (both the really scary flying things and the old rich blond people from the New England area)

Jail.. (does anyone watch lockdown? or worse yet, who remembers toss the salad man?)

People dressed in giant costumes...the easter bunny at the mall, Grimus (that big purple thing that used to be at McDonalds on Kid's night back in the day).
yellow jackets

Being 40 and not being successful.

I'm scared of not being able to know something,

that and being left alone in the deepest darkest of woods, yes logic goes out the window when you "feel" someone breathing over you and watching you (even though its probably your imagination)

Anhar,

Something happening to my son is my biggest fear.

-

Honorable mentions:

Losing my drive to stay active, to party, to laugh.

To become slothen or borish, to want to settle. That'd suck to wake up one day and not care anymore.

-

Oh yes, and Michael Myers .
