Obtaining Contracts

I have recently been trying to obtain the film rights to a specific short story. I was asked by the author to come up with some kind of contract, so I then spoke with a lawyer who told me it would cost $2000.00 (which I don't have).

So I was wondering how would I go about getting a contract made up, and is there anybody that I could look for in my area that could help me?

Someone posted this link in the doc forum recently. I've never dealt with them myself, and I"m not sure if they can help out with your specific need - but it's worth a shot.

If nothing else they should be able to help point you in the right direction.
 
i would also consider an amazon search. there are some good books that include templates for different situations. may seem pricey, but are worth it and will provide boilerplate language for you to tweak.
