The potential appeal is very high... the potential disappointment is very high.
This thing 'aint going nowhere... expect it to be a success and level off. It's very tempting to set up a webcam in such a way that you would blow random people away with contrived situations... Tell me this isn't a good idea: Record the feed as you play practical jokes on strangers? It would be so easy to do... set up your webcam to show what is actually a set (like that movie where hits killed people?) or any other type of production... and eventually you're going to have some reality gold (from the other viewer)... if you clicked on that and saw a "scene" unfolding... instead of just some dude on the toilet... how could you NOT watch to see what happens? And most likely react in a realistic manner?
One way or another there's a good short film idea here (wink-wink... betrayal fest anyone? caught your GF or BF cheating this way? perhaps a back and forth situation of who is betraying who leading to some twisty reveal?)
I don't know... it's definitely intriguing either way... but here's a quote from the link Isaac the bartender just posted...
