I've got an amazing machine at work, with one problem - if I try to run the dual monitor setup in 'Dual View' desktop mode, I get no video in Premiere on my right monitor. The desktop wallpaper just shows through where the video should be.
Video is fine on the second monitor if I set the desktop to 'Span' mode, where the Windows taskbar stretches across the bottom of both monitors - but this is quite the hassle a lot of times. Most notably, the Premiere Pro 2 'New Project' window is forced to the center of the screen and can not be moved - in this Span mode, that is cut in half across the two monitors. This is one example of many frustrations that have been stacking up over time.
I've tried to just deal with it for a few months but I haven't been able to get used to it, especially since my ATI X1950 at home shows video fine on both monitors in Dual View mode.
Does anyone know of a workaround for this on Nvidia 8800 cards? My cheeseball fix has been to just do things in Dual View mode, then switch to Span mode when using Premiere - but it requires a full reboot after I switch or the video in Premiere looks like it's only using 16 colors with blown out contrast.
