Use the timecode generator filter, and set the format to frames. Delete TCG from the "label" and then keyframe 30000, 0, and 2000. You can adjust the font size, location, colour.
I can't figure out how to get rid of the "+" for positive numbers though.

How would you go about making a countdown from scratch starting from 10 counting down to 1? I know there is a countdown in FCP for printing to tape. I just wanted to create something a little more creative looking.

There must be a place to download these. Maybe just as a .mov files or something. Otherwise all i can think off is make one from scratch using Flash or FCP making each round 1 second and then looping it 10 times and adding the numbers. Actually no i don't know how this would work.
