Nudity to Help Sales?

Keep in mind also that while nudity might add some audience members, it may also cost a few. I know several people who will go to IMDB and read the parental advisory first. If nudity is listed, they won't rent/buy the movie. People can argue over whether or not that's 'right', but the fact is that there is some segment of audience out there who will respond that way.

If you make a truly excellent, high quality, SCARY horror movie, horror fans will eat it up, whether it has nudity or not. I my opinion, nudity only helps the sales of inferior quality movies.
 
Yep. And, they're an added boon when you end up needing a wheelchair just to move yourself around day to day! Although I'm not sure I'd recommend one as old and rickety as mine.
 
All I can say is, if you are going to do it, make it integral... and hot. Don't half-ass it, because nothing ruins a bad movie worse than bad nudity. If I see nudity in the warning, I expect it to be hot chicks, full frontal even, but not some guy's saggy hairy backside.
 
Honestly, I'm even growing tired of the plethora of 'hot chicks' in movies, especially indies. Nothing screams 'amateur' to me louder than an indie where just about every person in it looks like a model. I'd rather see more realistic-looking people, personally. Glamming it up just seems to be another sign of weakness.
 
Boobies are too slasher flicks what car chase scenes are to action movies. If it's a more suspense driven piece like The Ring or the French film Inside then nudity is not obligatory.

I think back in the day it was really cool to see boobies...but now, I don't think it makes as much of a difference any more. These days kids can get all the hardcore porn they want on the internet...or they make their own with their cell phones!

Personally, I think a scantily clothed woman is WAY sexier than a naked one....leaves more to the imagination and you don't offend anyone.
 
It looks to me like this young filmmaker just wants to coax a young lady into showin her jibblies. If it were to enhance the project, it would have been written in from the get go.
I recomend making a home made porn to curb the yern.

Crank is kindafa like an exploitation film, nudity, violence, gangs, some gore and the use of a lot of guest stars.
 
Why not change it up a bit? Have the killer slash at a guy's pants and his penis flops out. That's leading the pack!
