Does anyone here own the nuangle nc3500 dolley? any problems with rigidity, rails getting in the shot etc.
Its a very interesting idea to mount then rails on top of two tripods. I contacted them and they said they can also make circular sections if I needed them too.

Re: nuangle dolley

I'm just bumping this to the top. I'm thinking of purchasing this dolly and I am wondering if anyone has any comments on it. Anyone, anyone... Bueller?

Re: nuangle dolley

As far as I can gather:

NC-3500 Track Dolly 12ft system $545.00

I recently built (had built) a dolly for under a $170.00 that looks as pro as any dolly shot using the skateboard wheel and PVC track design. It states on this site for track sections of 44" (Is that 3' 6" feet?) it is $135.00; for me to add 10' sections of track it is roughly $4.00 per.

Perhaps you have the extra duckets to throw down on this system but I am just making you aware of your options. ANyone else can chime in as I have no idea about this product.

Check these threads (links) for sample footage of my dolly I recently secured.

Re: nuangle dolley

Hi John:

Thanks for the reply. Your footage looks good and smooth.

I'm not adverse to building my own but I thought the idea of having the track mounted to tripods is kind of unique. It seems like it would be quick to set up on uneven surfaces.

With your dolly, how hard is it to set up on an uneven surface (say on the lawn)? I'm just wondering because I like to do a lot of nature filming and plan to shoot mostly outdoors.

Re: nuangle dolley

I'm diggin it.

It was recently suggested to me to mount some PVC on a Ladder (Straight Extension) and use sandbags (or shims) to level out for eneven surfaces. I have'nt tried it yet but I see no drawbacks to this process.

In fact, in my opinion, I would think it would be a quicker and easier set-up using sandbags or shims than trying to level out (2) different tripods on uneven ground.

Just my .02 !
