NTSC Monitor for DVCProHD w/out HD Deck

I am trying to set up an external NTSC monitor for a project shot at 720p on the HVX. I don't however, own an HD deck. All I have is a firewire camcorder that I use as an analog/digital media converter for SD projects.

Is it possible for FCP6 to downconvert the external video so that I can display the project on my monitor? All I can get right now are single frames. Is it possible to do this without editing the whole project in SD and then going back to HD when finishing? It's the only solution I can think of and it seems kind of backwards...

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Can't be done with the hardware you have. Simplest solution is Desktop Cinema Preview to a second monitor- like a second Cinema Display.
