Would there be any way to convert a NTSC monitor to PAL?
I found an LCD monitor lying around the house and was hoping to connect it to my dvx but since my cam is pal it will be in black and white even if I connect it...
In the old analog days, the answer would have been: almost certainly not. Because NTSC and PAL have such significant differences.
But in the modern digital era these days, most of the chips that vendors use to design LCD monitors are made for both NTSC and PAL. However, it seems as likely as not that the "switch" may be hard-wired into the design and not something that the end-user could change.
If you adventurous, you could try removing the back cover and see if there is anyhing that looks like "NTSC/PAL". But I wouldn't bet serious money on it.
