Ntsc export to pal and burn?

I have to deliver some DVD's to Italy, some forums say that most players in Europe will play the NTSC footage. I'm skeptical. So I put the NTSC file on the time line, exported it to Media Encoder and selected a PAL version of AVI - it did convert but I have no way of telling if it will work as I don't have a PAL only player. Is it this easy to transpose from NTSC - PAL or am I missing something?

The AVI should play on your computer. The DVD you make may, too.

For the record, we have sold many, many NTSC DVDs worldwide, and not one customer has ever said it wouldn't play.

NTSC is fine for EU. Just label the package for the 1% who might have an issue.
