NTG-3 furry windscreen deadcat recommendations

I have a Rode NTG-3 on order, and am looking for a furry windscreen that will provide the most wind reduction, short of going the whole nine yards with a blimp.

Here are the options I've run across so far:
I'm baffled that some windscreens don't have wind reduction ratings.

Does the rubber gasket really make a difference over a velcro flap?

I wonder how much better the Auray is over the $14 Chinese ones.

I use the RODE WS6 on the NTG1 & 2 and it works really well outdoors in wind. Though I don't have figures for it.
The rubber gasket does work. It doesn't slip as it has a good grip on the mic and is silent in use. .

Sounds like you're willing to spend $100. And as for noise-reduction ratings, I wouldn't give those from the super-low-cost ones much heed. Also factor in how well the thing is likely to hold up after a few months/years of (ab)use.

My ranking would be:

1) Rycote Softie
1) Bubblebee Industries Wind Killer (or Spacer Bubble if you're willing to spend a bit more)
2) Rode WS7

Yes, I have a tie between Rycote and Bubblebee. Bubblebee makes nice stuff. I have lots of their lav mic bits and like them. And their Spacer Bubble has a good reputation. Don't know about the Wind Killer specifically, but I pretty much trust the company. https://www.bubblebeeindustries.com/collections/shotgun-boom-microphones-wind-protection

The Auray thing might be OK; they're a house brand/label for B&H...not sure how good their stuff is in general and this item in particular.

And I own a lot of Rycote stuff; have for 25+ years. But then, I do a lot of audio work so I'm OK spending a fair amount of money on wind protection. But for something in the >$100 range, I think you're heading the right direction.

I own the Auray. It works but I have no direct comparisons. I've only used it a few times but it doesn't feel cheap and would last a long time.

One important note, slip on dead cats don't perform as well as a blimp with a cat. You will hear strong wind with slip ons. It will be greatly muted but it will never perform as well as a cat over a blimp.

For me, I don't regret the slipon because I've only done a couple of outdoor jobs where it was needed and it got the job done. But if I had an important high paying job and I film outside on a regular basis then the blimp would be a no brainer.

I'm a cheapskate at heart, but I also want to avoid being penny wise and pound foolish. There's no sense in paying $99 for the Rycote if the $58 Rode WS7 is virtually identical, which is why I wanted to hear everyone else first-hand experience.

Here's a $55 K-Tek to add to the list.

I've used WindTech and Auray furry windscreens that go on over the mic's original foam windscreen, but I never put them in that challenging of a situation.

No idea if the Rode WS7 is identical to the Rycote. I think you'd have to buy both to compare, which seems like a hassle.
