NTG-2 + HD-P2 = Low Sound?

Hi,

First time I tried the combination of the NTG-2 with the HD-P2 recorder, but it seems like the levels stay really low. Luckily its appears the sound quality stays fairly good as I increase the volume, but not happy with the problem.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Well I don't have an NTG-2. But I do have the Sennheiser MKH416 I will do a test going directly in to the hd-p2 and see what may be going on.

Both, but more noticable indoors (perhaps because it is dead silence when they aren't talking) and at time mic was just 1 foot away from actor. The sound levels were low and although it sounded kind of low in the headphones it was extremely low once I put it in Soundbooth. For example I have to click the "Make Louder" button in Soundbooth twice to get an acceptable sound level. Even three times for some of the clips.

The INT/EXT switch in turned to EXTernal mic?

Last thing I can think of. I have the same set up and have had no problems.

I had no problem recording to the hd-p2 either maybe Hxd Ped has a point.

Check that then see if that makes any difference.
