NSOLTZ: Pics of Zacuto & DVRIG?

nsoltz,
Just checking to see if you have any photos of your HVX/Zacuto/DVRIG setup? I'm curious about how cumbersome it may appear(I'm used to lugging around a BETA SX so weight isn't a real issue for me). Also, what's the process for transfering from DVRIG to tripod? How involved is the process (screws? plates?, etc.)?

Any pics and insight you can provide is appreciated.
Jim

Will post something tonight. Thanks for the reminder. Getting ready to leave on Wed for 3 weeks and too many loose ends to tie up!

Ned,
Anything you can do is appreciated. I know how crazy things can be getting ready for a lengthy time away from home. SO, if you can get to it... that's great. If not... understandable.

Here is an option for the fastest tripod mount, The plate is permanently connected to the bracket and can
be swinged out of the way.

Here are few more special DvRigPro modifications

Danny,
Thanks for the pic.

So, if I have this right from looking at the photo... all you have to do is slide the plate off the tripod... loosen the nut under the DVRIG and swing the bracket out of the way? Is that correct?
Jim

Yes, Simple.

The reason for the bracket and all the holes is to keep the rig horizontally leveled
on the tripod head to allow paning

Danny,

How sturdy is that mount? Is it strong enough for quick moves... both pans and tilts? These would be done with a full Zacuto rig including batteries and monitor.

Thanks again,
Jim

It is strong but might be too "springy" in quick moves.

You tell me, I will send you one for tests.

PM me your mailing address

Danny,

I appreciate the offer. But, it would be a bit premature. I'm still in the research mode with plans to order the Zacuto RIg, camera, Marshall monitor and DVRIG the first week in July.

After looking at your photo I'm going to give some thought to a quick release mechanism that might be a bit stronger than the bracket in your photo. I'll let you know if I come up with something.
