NPF-970 L series battery flashing on charger?

My Shogun Inferno came with Atomos NP-F970 batteries (not genuine Sony) and apparently I've let one sit too long and discharge. On the Atomos charger it just sits there with the lights on but never finishes. On a genuine Sony charger it seems to be charging for a few minutes but then starts to flash continuously which means error.
Anything I can do to maybe nurse this back to health or is it a terminal diagnosis, Doc?

And while we are talking batteries, I also have a genuine Sony NP-F970 battery that seems to charge fine and shows 100% in the camera but after only a few minutes (or less) it drops to warning and then dead. This one may be many years old...not sure as I didn't start dating batteries until 2 years ago

The Atomos charger's green lights never go off.

When all of them are green and are blinking it means the battery is almost fully charged...and when they stop blinking, the battery is fully charged and the lights stay on.

(I'm not sure what the Sony charger issue is.)

Interesting. I have some 3rd party NPF batteries that sat in a bin for 5-6 years(!) and recently charged them up to power a couple LED lights. They took 6 hours/overnight to charge but then they powered the lights for a very long time...I'm not sure that I changed batteries the whole shoot. Granted I had the lights dimmed to their lowest setting most of the time and they were the large size batteries. I should look up that manufacturer.

EDIT: They are by Hahnel. I can't find them for sale online so I guess I'm going to take a chance with cheapos when I purchase more NPFs.

It's weird. The Atomos charger with no battery connected shows both a green and red light. If I put the Atomos battery in question on it, nothing happens. Both red and green lights stay on. But if I put a Sony battery on it, then both lights turn red.

The Atomos battery does nothing connected to a camera. It's like it isn't even there. It must be completely 100% dead or malfunctioned. Shame since I hardly used it since I got it about 2 years ago.
