Now Why cant i log/capture with this?

I remember a few months back I asked somebody if I can use this DV VCR as a capture device. He said it wouldnt work yet Ive used a antique miniDV camcorder clearly not for use as a capture device successfully for the past 2 years.

So is this guy crazy?

Video walkman is especially poorly suited for FCP. Try something else.

On the contrary, I've been using the Sony GVD-1000 for about 2 years now and it's excellent. It's all I need. Small footprint, and I've had zero problems using it as my capture/recording device. I purchased mine for $939.00 but I can't remember where.

Are you on FCP 5 yet? I've heard conflicting reports of its compatibility with the Walkman.

Hmmm... what are you basing this on Noah?

I know that , in my case, upgrade to FCP5 was accompanied by necessary upgrade to OS X 10.3.9, and that 10.3.9 has some FW issues with cameras and decks... not necessarily related to specific decks and cameras... so I'd check this out with some folks on Tiger, or pre-10.3.9...

I'm still on 4.5 so I can't say. But it's been reliable since I was on 3.0
