Now I can edit AVCHD direct from my camera

Bought a Panny 3CCD HDC-SD1 a while back that records to AVCHD. Have fought editing this into my projects for quite a while and eventually bought the Intensity Pro card from Blackmagic to get the workaround done so I could actually use this camera in some edits. Even then it didn't work well at all.

Until today! I just downloaded the AVCHD to DVCPRO HD converter from the panasonic website and it works wonderfully! All of the footage that I've been sitting on (ie. vacation footage) is now getting edited at full speed by me today! It's awesome and with the new Premiere 3.1.1 I don't even use Raylight.

So far so good. It takes a little time to convert it but on a quad core with 4 gbs of ram I'm getting between 15 and 20 fps. And the footage looks goood!

Anyway, here's a link to the download page. Look for AVCHD to DVCPRO HD transfer.

By the way, one other user on the adobe forums indicated this only works with panny AVCHD files. I don't have anything else so I can't say.
