November 3rd? Pshaw. The real announcement date to pay attention to is Oct. 28th...

Well, no, a necessary component of it being a scam is that they'd have to be scamming somebody out of something, and so far, as far as I know, they haven't asked anybody for anything.

If there is a customer, then there is money involved, therefore it puts weight on the scam side.

and
The successful test should pave the way for further work at the University of Bologna, and more contracts with the enigmatic customer.

Sometimes you don't have to ask to scam someone.

Rossi's E-cat is a low temp fusion thermal reactor, input power is used to bring it up to process temperature after which it is self sustaining until shut down and only requires power for cooling fans and water pumps. It produces lots of heat. Not enough yet for electricity generation with a steam turbine, but plenty for industrial processes that require heat or for domestic hot water and heat pump use.
Input fuel is nickel and hydrogen, output is heat, copper. Doesn't violate any laws of physics, it is just a difficult engineering problem.
For the 28th proof of performance test of the first commercial reactor it was run in self sustaining mode for over 5 hours. Total energy input was 66KWH, total measured energy output in the form of steam was 2635KWH. The customers engineers conducted the test to their own satisfaction. The unit consumed 2 grams of hydrogen.

In New York as well as Bologna, until the turn of the century. My post had a point. Does yours?
My point was just because something was though of as good long ago, doesn't mean it necessarily is viewed in the same light today.

"Bologna was a famous university town when New York City was forest and woodchucks" is the same as saying "my grandmother was sexually attractive to men decades ago"... may of been the case then, but what does it have to do with today?

Max was pointing out that while it may be a humorous irony to English speaking westerners that the test is taking place in Bologna, it has no relevance to wether the claims are true, and that Bologna was (and still is) a respected University town. That the tests are taking place there is a positive thing. Your post seemed overly defensive and snarky (and a bit nonsensical) for such a trivial remark, which prompted further snark from Max.

Thou has defended the damsel's honor, white knight. lol
But still, the fact that Bologna is allowing such a farce to take place there should be grounds to reconsider its esteemed status as a respected university town.

I like Bologna sandwiches.

Let's keep it civil, everyone. Snarkiness serves nobody.

I want a sandwich now.

Come on fella's, these have been available at the Lone Pine Mall in Hill Valley for a while now..... What's the problem?

If you watch snowleopard's post about the 60 minutes follow-up, there certainly appears for there to be room that it isn't a scam...
