According to the descriptions on B&H, the $500 package ("100 G2") includes a plug-on transmitter that only works with dynamic mics. Bad news for shotgun owners. The $900 package ("100/500 G2") has the transmitter you'd need.

I've got the older Evolution 100 series, and the plug-in transmitter also doesn't supply phantom power (hence relegating it primarily to working with dynamic mics). However, if you're using a battery-power electret condensor, the plug-in transmitter will work with that. It won't work with a mic that *requires* phantom power, but it will work with a mic that either a) doesn't need power, or b) can supply its own.

My main wireless stuff was Lectro 100's (bought two complete systems used for a song $500 for one, $600 for the other) but I sold them and have considered replacing them with the G2's for one single reason: battery life. 9V batteries get expensive on the Lectro's!!!

Anyone know if there is an adapter to convert the TA5F on my Sanken and Sonotrim lavs to that mini 1/8" locking connector on the Sennheisers? Or, should I send em' off to get modified at the Trew Audio lab? Any thoughts.. This has kind of been on my mind lately. Thanks.
