not sure what to rent...

Shooting about 3 scenes indoors for a horror short with an HVX200a and redrock m2. Just wondering what you guys think I should add to my list as far as lighting/grip rentals go. I am the DP but I was planning on helping the director out on what we would need. I dont know what is to much or what is to little as I am used to having the key grip bringing all of b/h with them in a truck.

(((edit))) I should also add that theres about 3 people including myself in the camera and electrical department.

Dramatic lighting with shadows or soft and even lighting? What is the mood of the indoor scenes? Is this where the monster is about to pounce or do we have to set some kind of background in these scenes? You really have to know whats going on to be able to say what kind of lighting would be used. Fresnels for shadows, flos or tungsten behind diffusion for soft and even lighting.

C-Stands
Flags
Gobo Heads and arms
Sandbags

Buying gels and diffusion is a good thing
Gaff tape

As for lighting package - you can get anything from a Lowell to a Mole kit or even http://www.airstar-light.us/ those.

Essentially we need more information.

It's definitely a general question... but chances are you want some sort of 3200k kit. Fluos or tungsten will depend on your desired look and available wattage. I would guess you'd only want HMIs in a huge house or if you're lighting from the exterior.

The good news is you won't need ridiculous amounts of light to expose properly on the 200a, and if you're going to drive the look with shadows, that means even fewer fixtures will be needed.

Thats still not enough information about the script and character action, blocking and motivation to know what you need but, if you want to use cookies then you need fresnels or a leko type instrument--something that will do projection well.

In order to know what lighting you need, you have to be familiar with the script and the general mood thats being evoked in each scene as well as the overall look of the film. You said its a dark rainy night in a house. We don't know what all is going on in the house from what we've heard from you, how many characters, are there shadows everywhere and dimly lit bluish backgrounds with some key lighting from side on characters to indicate light coming in from windows, etc. Lots of things to think about and know about each scene and what mood you are trying to get across.
