Ok, I've been pretty cool with the fact that I have to have surgery. Today, I had my pre-op appts with the surgeon and also at the hospital. The dr was REAL late because she got delayed in a surgery this morning, AND THEN RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE WAY TO THE OFFICE!
My appt at the hospital was supposed to be 30 minutes after the dr appt...but since the dr was an hour late, so also was I late for the appt at the hospital. And let me tell you, every one of those little old retired ladies dressed in pink who checked me in looked at me like I had done them some personal wrong, informing me I was due there over an hour earlier. *yes, I know, I'm sorry* While verifying my information in the computer, they say "And we have your emergency contact as Leo?" I dont know any Leo....Leo who? "Leo Woolsey?" No, dont know him, but how come is he on my file??
They put my chart at the end of the line. That's cool, I brought a book.
The pre-op nurse comes out and says, "Ms. Hartley, we were told your surgery was cancelled." uhm, No, and I clear that one up.
Then the nurse looks at my chart and says "that's strange, why are they ordering so many tests?" What tests??? I had to have an EKG, chest x-rays, and all kinds of labwork. Sounded pretty normal to me, but it was abnormal to the nurse given my health history is void of anything. Non-smoker, non-drinker, no history of heart stuff, etc....
I wont bore you with the rest of it, but it involved country music, a travelling band of carol singers, a lady walking in a wheelchair that was decorated for the 4th of July, and well....I just need to go lie down. :undecided
