not possible to add in and out points in browser window thumbnails???

Perhaps I'm missing something.

But is it not possible to add in and out points in thumbnails of the browser window?

I know you can do it in the project window. So it's strange that I'm not able to do it in the browser window.
There are also no keyboard shortcuts available for anything in the browser window. Just strange.

It seems that the browser window is just browsing then and nothing else, correct?

Thanks Gary. Isn't the browser window then kind of redundant, if it's not possible to do anything except view clips?

If so, I'll just keep using the project window.

I believe that Prelude is what you may want.

Not much experience of Prelude my self but I think its kind of a pre edit / previs application.

Browser is a browser for ...well...browsing thru your shots.

No, it's not.

Remember that the browser window is for looking at files on disk which are not imported into your project yet (or even if they are, you're looking at the "raw" file, outside the scope of your project). You can't edit them -- including adding in/out points -- because they're not in your project. PP in general only lets you modify things which are in the project -- this makes sense, because the edits are actually stored as edit decisions in the project file, NOT by modifying the original clips. So if a file is not in the project, there's nowhere to store the edits.

If you want to work on clips, you need to import them, then you can work on them in the project window.

The browser window is just a handy way of previewing a clip and deciding whether you even want to import it. Personally I import entire SD cards at once, but some people will benefit from this feature.
