NOOMA Films

The evangelical community does something entirely cool and successful: 10-minute short films--shot on film--that sell for 10 bucks each. 100,000 copies sold in the first two years through independent channels, prior to a recent distribution deal that now places them in retailers nationwide. Unbelievable.

Church is looking cooler every day.

That is cool; I like what appears to be a low-key approach to basically spreading 'good vibes' and messages on top of that $ item $.

These look solid.

I have this set, very very very cool stuff. The style and execution is just simply "cool". I recommend them if anyone wants to see some style.

I just saw "Rain" this week, part of this series.

Shot on film, good production value, stedicam. Little overexposed at parts, but generally impressive. The presentation of this is also good, the packaging, the titles, etc.

What I didn't like about this piece was that it was too "talky". You know how some stories are just better told than shown in a film? I am not necessarily criticizing the direction or the execution of the piece I just think some stories are better told by someone in the flesh. However, distribution of a $10 DVD is undoubtably a good way to get a "sermon" out to many people, and the message in "Rain" was good.
