Noob Resolve Rec709/P3 question

Hi forum Resolve users/experts.

Im new to timing/color workflow. That said, I have some footage a friend of mine wants me to have a go at in Davinci Resolve. These are QuickTime files from a Sony camera and they are some flavor of 8bit, 50mbps codec.

I wanted to set my DaVinci project to allow me to work with/export this footage in either Rec709 or P3DCI.

I know how to do this when working in CinemaDNG, but not in compressed video files. How do I set my project to be within a particular color space? I cannot seem to find it.

And I know that if I don't have a DCI projector or monitor that it's not worth working in that color space, but please, if you can disregard the monitoring aspect, how do I tell resolve to either set the project to this color space or to output in these color spaces?

Forgive me if I'm confounding color space with color gamut/gamma, etc....again, noob question.

Thanks me in advance, and any responses will be greatly appreciated!
-All the best, Rafael

I use the input/output LUT tables under the project settings. The input lut is camera color space to linear, REC709 to linear would be the usual choice for an HD video camera unless shooting in a log mode. The output LUT is linear to export color space, DCI in your example.
