noob question 60i > 24p related

Alright soo as we all know, converting 60i to 24p results in slower footage when all is said and done.

I was trying to sync up an actor/singer with the song after converting the footage and ran into this problem. So I sped the footage up 125% and it worked perfectly.

so my question is,
is the converted footage still technically 24p? Or have I managed to go around a giant loop putting me back at square one with 60i.

Yes it is technically 24p if you export it that way.
