Noob: General guidlines for editing workflow? Edit, Fx, Color, Render

I am finding some great tutorials online for Premiere, but few really give a guideline for workflow. Some show many different ways to do the same thing within editing and color correction. I figure I will learn which works for me, but want to ask the following.

Do I generally do all my edits for the whole piece first?

Do I then apply effects like vignette, color filters etc?

When I move to color correction do I generally start with brightness and contrast or is better to start with exposure correction with a plugin like Magic Bullet exposure?

Do I color after brighness and contrast?

Where does sharpening belong in the flow?

As a general rule, you'll want to do your edits before your effects work. Not sure it really matters much what order you do the effects in.

I'm not 100 percent sure if there's an actual list you should follow to edit.
But as a user of Premiere i lay out all my footage in the timeline first then once all my footage is in place, i start with my color correction, then i lay a tint and map my blacks to a really dark brown, and map my whites to almost a skin tone with a 35% transparency. I find this works best for me and gives it a cinematic feel.

Can I see how that looks somewhere online?
