Would it be possible to use a 3rd party achromat with the M2 system? Something like the Canon 72mm close up lens?
Non-M2 achromat on M2 adapter?

Hey Trudd,
You can use any brand of achromat for the M2 - just make sure the magnification is around 10-12x. And just so you know - if your third party achromat doesn't provide enough magnification, then make sure you don't resort to stacking multiple achromats. Just use one that's in the 10-12x range. The drawback is many of these third party achromats are only 2-5x.
