non Ai lenses

Hey guys can you tell me what Ai means in lenses and in 35mm adaptors that have nikon mounts will they take these lenses?

AI means Aperture Index or Auto Index, I think. It allows SLR cameras to automatically stop down the iris when metering. Most 35mm Nikon adaptors will take Non-AI lenses, but check with the respective manufacturer to be absolutely sure.

I've used AI and Non-AI lenses on my letus and I believe will be the same the SGPRO when it arrives. But I would stay away from the more modern auto lenses without manual aperture settings because you won't be able to adjust it manually.
