Oleg, I know you've got a Nomad Jukebox 3. I'm hoping you or another member can answer my question.
I'm about to buy a Sony DMXPO1 mixer because I can get one at a great price. It has all the bells and whistles, and sends audio out at 24bit via s/pdif or AES/EBU digital outputs.
The thing is, I don't want to pay for a recorder like the Fostex FR2 if I can get away with a budget recorder like the Nomad Jukebox. After all, I'll be bi-passing the pres/converters on the Fostex anyway. But whereas the Fostex can record 24bit audio, I'm not sure if any cheaper alternative can.
I assume I can't send a 48k/24bit signal into the optical input on the Jukebox, but actually I'm not sure. All the Creative site says is it can record wav files up to 48k. It doesn't mention bit rate.
So... will it work? If not, is there any cheaper alternative for portable 24bit recording than the FR2?
Hey, thanks guys
