I watched this a couple of hours ago, and I can't stop thinking about it. My mind is racing. Easily my favourite film of the year. I can't remember the last time I saw a film with such a taught narrative and so cleverly conceived. You can tell the writer lavished plenty of time and love on the script. The nuances of character and plot, the foreshadowing...the way it all ties together...wow. And tense. My breathing was getting short at the end. It 's an Aussie film, the director's first. Oh, and he also wrote it :) He's in his 40s, something I'm taking comfort in. :)

Haha, I'm so exhilarated I'm feeling a little incoherent. To all Aussies on the forum, I wholeheartly recommend this. To those of you elsewhere, I can't imagine it not coming your way. On the giddy scale, I'd give this a 5 out of 5.

Looks great from the trailer, although someone in Hollywood will get the rights to it, remake it with "better" actors, and we will all be watching this on dvd sometime after the new movie makes it to dvd. Sad but true.

Ok, this post edited - I didn't note your inverted commas on "better". Snappy comment taken back.

Interesting you got a good vibe from the trailer, it didn't work for me.

The film isn't much like the usual successful Oz export...those tend to do best when they include cultural icons (desert, crocodile hunters, Aussie battler etc). This may not take off, but the writer/directors future is assured, I would think.

Just watched this last night on netflix on demand.

AMAZING.

With great performances, and one of the best sound designs I have heard in a long time. All around one of the best movies I've seen in recent years.

I was thinking of the trailer for this film recently and remembered seeing it here, but couldn't for the life of me remember the title. I'll have to check this out.
