Is there a filter or method to reduce noise in dark areas using FCP?
I had some night shoots with my DVX and it looks pretty nasty, like screening footage of busy maggots with 30% opacity over the night footage..use your imagination.

Not a lot. If you get a lot of noise you are underexposing your shots or using too much gain. Add more lighting so you can shoot at a more closed down f-stop.
