Noise, fringing, moire

Does anybody else have a hard time getting a noise free picture without any fringing or is it me? Seems like dark areas always have a certain amount of noise no matter what I do. Then theres anything with detail ( bookcases, trees, wood paneling, brickface, rooftops) always flicker. I've used the settings and have gotten most of it down to what I consider not bad, but its still there. When a shot requires such elements in the backround, or a shot that has naturally dark areas, how do I avoid any of this. Every new enviroment I shoot in brings in a different set of problems like these and I'ts driving me batty.
John Hudson and Sharckey have posted in the past they never experience the noise some of use have seen and dealt with and I am wondering what they are doing different to overcome these video issues. And did I post this in the right section or is this a tecnical section one.
