Ok im having trouble for some reason trying to understand what exactly is being stated on this page.
My monitor's threads are the standard 1/4-20.
Would this work with my monitor?
Also, what is the 3/8-16 number? I thought it was just a standard hot shoe mount?

So overall would this hold my 1/4-20 thread monitor on the XH-A1 shoe mount?
 
Yes it will work. Looks like it comes with a 3/8" stud which you probably won't need. One end mounts on shoe and one end is 1/4-20 for onboard monitor.

After some more thought i've decided to spend the extra money and just purchase the longer version Noga Articulating arm.

Im assuming this one will also work, correct? Im asking because it doesn't seem to have any technical information?
