this seems to be the new trend in entertainment. giving us a behind the scenes look at what goes on behind the camera. with a nudge and a wink. i love it.
Don't know if you've been watching Unscripted on HBO, but it's interesting to say the least. Blurring the lines of reality and improv'd entertainment. It's holding my interest for the time being. And did I mention how HOT Krista Allen is??!!
Wow..I'm on page 5 of that Rotten Tomatoes forum. That guy is getting the piss taken out of his film. He definitely handled that poorly. Now I don't want to watch it.
Damn, that was an ugly thread (tomato), tho, I've seen some other complaints about this guy a while back. The whole 'hidden' and register thing is a little unsettling. I remember this was a problem with a large film forum a few months back (same film). Tell you one thing, the wom on this film is getting out there, I know I'm tired of hearing about it...so he's doing something right (or wrong), we'll see.
After reading that tho, I'm reconsidering the 'register' thingy we have on our message board at my film's site. I mean, it's just a message board, but clearly 'having to register' ruffles quite a few feathers. Interesting.
I think people are concerned about the whole privacy issue. That guy was going to use registration as proof to distributors that his film has a market.
He also talked about trying to create a website dealing with marketing films. If he decides to pitch his new venture he may just use the list of people who registered for his film.
Man, anyone else hooked to this tomato thread? I've been reading for a while now, and just can't seem to stop. I'm on page 7 I think, which is an awesome part, if you're not there yet. These guys just figured out that it's actual bts from the film, '13 Moons', and the dude is denying it. This guy is something else.
I'm truly wondering if he's just 'playing' the rest of these guys, building hype. He's either a genius or a complete asshole. Either way, it's pretty interesting watching these people slam eachother and figure out the guy's film. I need some popcorn.
Yeah, I'm still reading it. That guy is completely nuts. I was about to post about the 13 Moons bit. That guy has pretty thin material.
I've met people like this, people squatting on projects that they'll never be satisfied with. I had to do some post work on one. A film that will never see the light of day, it was terrible and the filmmaker couldn't let it go.
Okay, I'll give you guys the final scoop on this, as I'm up to page 11 and I'm too tired to read it further, but, I think I know the whole story now.
My facts may be a little hazy, but you'll get the picture...
So the guy who claimed to be the filmmaker for this 'no one wants your film', is in fact the Production Manager for that film, 13 Moons, which bombed apparently, but had some bts on the dvd, WHICH this jerk got a hold of and made into his own 'documentary', claiming it's a doc, rather than some bts he taped together to pawn off as an actual film.
It's just a bunch of random clips, you know, BTS! That's what the original complaints about this thread was, no one understood the story, and when confronted, he would act like a kid and have some strange vague answer. So, the guy is falsley claiming to have filmmed it, have rights to it and sell it as his own, through lies, deception, and all this strange , immature dialogue he's having with these other guys who have just snuffed him out.
That's basically the deal, I could be off, but I'm pretty sure I'm close.
Good fodder, and worth the time spent reading it. If you want to see the ultimate demise of a false filmmaker, you MUST read this.
Btw, if you decide to read it, start at page 7, that's when it really gets started
