Hi i have Vegas 7 and a pretty crap pc ( single cpu ) standard graphics etc

right import some cllips in and put them on the time line and they show up fine but only the audio , the image doesnt show up and doesnt play in the screen in the bottom right.

i dont know why this is as in windows movie maker and premiere cs3 the same clips work and display fine.

how do i make the image/video part of the clips show up in vegas ?

somthing simple im sure but i cant work it out

Thanks a lot jacob

I'm having a similar problem, too. I'm trying to import AVI files and all I get is sound. And when I converted them to wmv, it won't even allow me to import, saying there's an error. I think the footage might be HD, will that affect Vegas?

I converted to .mpg and i think it's working.

while i have the chance, no one ever responded to my past, stupid question about editing audio in realtime. is that possible in vegas 7?

In order to pinpoint the problem, it needs to be determined the type of video you're trying to use -- the codec.

Vegas handles HD just fine.

MPEG isn't your best choice for editing.
