No timeline in video effect window

Hello!

I would like to add some effect to a clip, starting in the middle of the
clip with 0% and in the end 100%. I know how to do it but the problem is
that there is no timeline in the bottom of the video effect / Event FX
window so I can't use keyframes. I'm using Vegas 7.0d.

This is how it is in my Vegas:

And this is how it should be:

Make the window bigger. Drag the bottom down some.

If you look closely, you'll see that the dark separator line from the timeline area is visible at the bottom of your truncated FX window.

Yeah, it probably is.

But you've expanded the panel containing the controls, rather than expanding the containing window.

It's a real pain in the butt when the panels get too large or small. Hard to grab them again.

If you hover the mouse near the bottom and move it very slowly/carefully, it should change into the "split cursor" when you reach the edge, allowing you to shrink/expand the individual panels.

^ Whoa!! Yeah, I found it. It was just like you said. I wonder why I didn't figure that out... :) Thanks a lot mate!

You didn't figure it out because a reasonable, sensible person would think Windows wouldn't allow its users to move something without an easy way to move it back again. :)

The same thing happens in table-ish/column-ish things like datagrids and Explorer. You can arrange things to be absolutely useless and nearly irrecoverable.
