No sound in come audio clips in the timeline

Faced with a very strange issue. I've edited a project and was about to get ready to export when I noticed that certain audio clips in the timeline have no sound or levels. When I play back the clip from my project window I can hear audio. Nothing is muted or lowered. What's even stranger is that an edit I made with the same clip can be heard in another cut on the timeline. I tried relinked and replacing audio on the porject window and also tried deleting peak files and nothing has worked. I'm editing on CS 5.5.

Ay help would be appreaciated. Project deadline is coming up fast as usual.

Here is a blownup screenshop of my timeline. The clip on the right and the left are from the same audio file. The one on the left doesn't play back audio, the one on the right plays the audio back. THe one on the left has no audio peaks and the one on the right has peaks (I turned them off). The one on the left has a grey line and the one on the right doesn't have that grey line. What is that grey line?! The clips that don't play the audio back have it.

You get a solid grey line and no sound if your audio gain on the ciip is set way, way down. That may not be the issue here, but it's one way of getting the behavior you're seeing.

Thanks David. Your correct, it's not the case here..I actually have the gain up but maybe it thinks its all the way down. I tried to duplicate the grey line by setting the gain all the way down on another clip or importing a clip with not audio track to no avail.

Other thoughts?

Never figured out a 1 click solution and had to move forward so I manually replaced the cuts using the timecode that was still present. Oh well...I just hope I never encounter this problem again.
