Hi guys
Finally getting close on a project I've been wanting to get into for a long time now, but haven't had the right partner, until now. My friend and I are building a modified Align Trex-800 heli to fly most cameras up to the Epic. Our starter camera will be a much cheaper, but still super capable GH2 though. My partner, Mike is a very experienced RC heli pilot and mechanic as well as a certified aircraft mechanic. I have decent mechanic and RC heli skills as well as a background in engineering and manufacturing skills (as well as camera opp skills.) Pretty good team I'm thinking!
Here is a rather poor iPhone picture of our rather humble starting point.

The Gimbal is my original design using iPower brushless motors and the new Basecam 32 bit controller. Current setup is good to probably 5 lbs or so but we are keeping it light and simple to start. We have got it flying but currently are experience issues with the analogue video transmitter. Early results are pretty encouraging, especially since we spent many hours working on even small details to make sure everything is working smoothly.
Here is an uninteresting video of the first real flight
And here is a video of the first time getting the gimbal working

I hope to get the video feed issue sorted out this weekend or early next week so we can shoot something interesting!
