No full screen...

Hi Guys

I'm not 100 percent sure this is the right place to ask this question, but since I'm already a registered member of DVX user I thought I'd give it a shot instead of registering to a different message board just for that question.

My problem is that my laptop will not show video files or DVD's in a correct aspect ratio/format, especially not full screen. Like old films, for example, that were shot 1:33. Whenever I try to play those I get two fat black bars on the sides. It's the same for AVI files, Divx files, DVD's, and youtube videos. It wasn't like this just a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I played something that is supposed to be full screen I had it on my entire screen, top to bottom, side to side.

True, this problem pales in comparison to the challenges the world economy and the world in general is facing right now, but still, it annoys me tremendously. Something's not working properly and that always destroys the harmony...

I reach a hand to you experts and ask: Do you know what the hell's going on?

Operating system is Vista, Laptop is Toshiba from 2 years ago.

Thank you!

Okay, weird. It was because I changed the screen resolution to 1280/800 pixels. When I push it back to 1024/768 all video files play correctly.
