No FCS3 at WWDC?

[tbob]

I just finished reading a debriefing on Apple's keynote at WWDC. I'm surprised to see it wasn't released, announced or even mentioned! I'm wondering what the new speculation timeline is. I know I'd love to see some updates, increased stability, and better workflow... so please just tell me when!

"soon"

The keynote was for all the big hardware stuff, I am hoping they will announce FCP3 later in the week.

[Zacatac]

give it until End of July, then I'll tell you

[Jim Brennan]

They have been announcing the end of June every 2 years for the past few releases.

I'm hoping the pattern continues. A guy I know who has beta-tested every FCP release for years keeps telling me to trust that pattern.

no, the announcements for the FCP5 and FCP6 were in April and started shipping May/June... FCS3 announcement in September when 10.6 is released.

[Jim Brennan]

Can't argue, since I was a Premiere/PC guy back then. Just repeating what he told me.

I hope 3 comes sooner than April though.

WWDC is for software developers. I think they would have been extremely bored if they had demoed a video editing suite... just like my wife is every time I try to tell her about all the new things I'm hoping for
